Last Friday, Virginia Clean Cities, in conjunction with the Maryland and Greater Washington Area Clean Cities Coalitions, hosted a unique propane autogas roadshow at the Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Md. About 30 fleet representatives were in attendance at the racetrack, along with autogas technology vendors Alliance AutoGas and ROUSH CleanTech. Attendees had the opportunity to ask vendors questions about the benefits of propane autogas fuel and the specifics of autogas OEM and conversion systems.
One of the highlights of the event, Susan Roush-McClenaghan, driver for the ROUSH drag team, showcased her autogas-powered Mustang and spoke to the benefits of the clean, American-made fuel. See her test-drive her Mustang started at the 24-second mark in this video:

On May 11, Veolia Transportation offered the city of Baltimore’s first propane-powered taxi ride to Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to the company’s headquarters. State and local dignitaries, media and autogas fleet operators were all on hand to promote the benefits of clean, domestically produced propane autogas. “It’s fuel-efficient, friendly for the environment. Long term, it just sustains our workforce and creates jobs and things like that,” Navin Dass of Veolia Transportation said. Check out some photos of the event below!

Last week, SPADP convened its third annual all-partner meeting in beautiful Asheville, NC. In addition to the meeting, a propane autogas roadshow was held on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, hosted by Land-of-Sky Clean Vehicles Coalition.
