The Mississippi Propane Autogas Roadshow was held September 20 in Jackson, Miss., as part of the SPADP Roadshow Series. The Mississippi Development Authority hosted the event, which drew in more than 60 attendees. The roadshow included presentations from Alliance AutoGas, Roush CleanTech, the Propane Education and Research Council, and the Mississippi Propane Association.
Derek Reed, a technician for SPADP-fleet Community Counseling Services, was on hand to discuss his fleet’s experience with autogas, and Charlie Stafford of partner Alliance AutoGas presented at the event.

This past Wednesday, the White House’s chief environmental adviser, Nancy Sutley, paid a visit to SPADP fleet partner Newport News, Va. Sutley, also a chairwoman of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, toured the Newport News Department of Vehicle and Equipment Services where the city is converting more than 20 of its fleet vehicles to propane autogas under the Program. U.S. Rep. Robert C. “Bobby” Scott and Mayor McKinley Price were also in attendance.

The long-running television show MotorWeek on PBS recently featured Veolia Transportation’s propane autogas taxi fleet in Baltimore.
Veolia is one of the largest fleet partners in the Southeast Propane Autogas Development Program, converting hundreds of taxis in Denver, Baltimore and Pittsburgh under the initiative. Check your local PBS listings for MotorWeek season 31, Episode 44. The segment will also be posted on the AFDC website soon.
